I am just back from my first self-supported bike tour with my husband Dave, where we spent 5 days biking between Dillon, Montana and Jackson, Wyoming, at a distance of over 300 miles. It was a fabulous chance to challenge ourselves physically, with singular focus mentally, and to celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary together. The big sky frees me, and vacationing like this refreshes me, preparing me to jump back into the school year. Photos from the trip will be available at our Picasa site soon. Below are some visual highlights from the journey.
Now that I am back to only biking on my daily commute, my mind is clear and free to find inspiration again, to reconnect and think expansively, following any and all sparks of interest. That is the intention of this blog: to collect my sparks of interest as they arise, as I am slowly developing the focus of my interdisciplinary dissertation. So, this blog will be far from polished. The thoughts might (will likely) be poorly developed. The writing might even be less-than-stellar. But my hope is that over time, I will amass a collection of tiny passions that will build and thread together to form a larger, multifaceted passion, and that I might someday weave together a coherent story about them. I intend to post at least weekly, although actual frequency will depend on how in tune I am with the small and large inspirations all around me. I welcome your comments or responses, although I expect that this is primarily a space for me to muse, and not to impart any ground-breaking ideas or teach anyone anything. Happy reading!
Thoughts in Progress.
This is an unpolished collection of thoughts and links that I want to keep in one place, occasionally updated, and mostly for my own purposes. But, feel free to engage me in conversation.
